<PICLOAD>UFOST.DAJ
<PI1LOAD>UFOST.LOW
<PICSHOWD>080,009,240,036,080
Having waited with anticipation for the first issue of UFOst it's finally
here and... the truth is in there :)
<PICSHOWD>000,037,320,168,000
As with most, if not all first issue's, UFOst is more of an introduction, only
20 or so articles are present which, I must admit was a let down, even as ST+
was taking it's first tenttive steps we had well over 45 articles for issue
one, having said that most of the files on disk were written by Lee himself so
although few in number they are original... and interesting.
I'm your average Sci-Fi nutter, I type away on my STe with starships and
spacestation's hanging from my ceiling so UFOst is something that, whilst I
admitedly do not fully appreciate fact wise, is something I can identify
with... unlike all the flying things that are reported on.. :))
The main shell is unique, use of digitised pics and icon buttons is used to
great effect though, perhaps some animation would be nice. This is in ct
another little grumble but I was led to believe from the start that I'd be
treated to digitised animation....mabey issue 2 eh, Lee?...
<PICSHOWD>048,175,272,199,048
The articles themselves are, as I said, written by Lee for the most part, I've
not looked through them all but I can tell you that each article has been
carefully chosen, news on upcomming UFO related events are listed, as are
numerous other wells of information.
A modified Stosser Software text displayer serves as the main text interface
and whilst not as comprehensive as some I've seen it does do the job.
Sightings, the all important basis for UFO's, information regarding them is
freely given however, as with any publication your input, articles and general
support are much needed.
In all I think that mabey a bit more time should have been taken on the first
issue, after all, first impressins do last, ST+ #1 was almost 4 months in
production and even 'that' wasn't as good as I' have liked...

THE SCORE IS OUT THERE...
Layout - 86% The files I read were clear and well formatted.
Files (count) - 35% At least twice this amount should have been on the disk.
Files (content) - 74% More than a few by Lee himself but this is only to be
expected, some interesting other bits also.
Shell - 90% Well laid out and easy to follow...looks good as well.
Presentation - 93% This is where Le spent his time...and it shows..
OVERALL - 68% Could have been better... but also a lot worse, looking
forward to issue #2
Dave..
